This is the second part of Wonderful Blogging Ideas - How To Breed Them In Your Garden? => PART 1

In this edition, we will explore what it takes to breed the right idea.
While there are so many ways and quick tips to help you come up with wonderful ideas, I will first explore in detail, points that I consider to be more important to understand to us, bloggers (specially to new bloggers). I will begin with the “basement” and gradually climbing up to more useful tips. You will notice that I will go very deep inside each point I will mention. While it would have been very easy for me to just mention them briefly, I don’t find any fun or self-satisfaction with such quick approach. You will also find that each successive points is related to the previous ones, making them a complete process in themselves.
So prepare yourself for some deep thoughts and discussion (also please engage yourselves with us and discuss ;) )

Let’s begin with two important approaches:

star 1) Have the right attitude - The constant thinking mind

First of all, ask yourself why are you blogging? If it is to earn some quick bucks online, then you better stop here!
Blogging is a philosophy and bloggers need to shape a certain behaviours and attitude. Bloggers blog because they are passionate and willing to spend time writing good informative and valuable stuffs for others to benefit first! Bloggers are eager to share! They are not selfish! Are you prepared to share your knowledge and experiences? If the answer is yes, congrats! You form part of the true meaning of being a blogger and you should be proud of it!
(What about the earning part? Common let’s face it, if in this process, after a big while, the blog earns the blogger some indirect money and fame, I don’t see why we have to blame him for that!)
light-bulb
Let’s clear one thing, can you play chess if you don’t like to think? No! Why? Because chess involves thinking and analysis in every single move. Similarly, you cannot blog correctly in the long run, if you don’t like to think.

Blogging involves a lot of thinking, analysis, observation and discussion. It requires constant thinking wherever you are; whether be it when you are eating, playing, working or watching tv. So, you have to develop the habit of thinking and asking questions to yourself. Excuses like “I cannot blog because I’m not able to come up with ideas” is a pretty lame excuse if you ask me. This is just because you are lazy to make your mind think! Think about it, am I right? (Now there are moments when really your mind can’t think, we will talk about this later). Nobody can inculcate this thinking attitude except yourself! Thinking, just like reading or writing, comes with constant effort and will. Infact, thinking is more natural and easy to do than reading or writing.. why not maximise this potential to your advantage? Instead of thinking about useless things, train your mind to think critically, analytically and creatively!

star 2) Reading and Interaction is crucial!

To be able to develop your analytical thinking, you need to read a lot. A lot? Not really! You need to read the right thing instead! When reading, quality is better than quantity. Learn to read some quality stuff. Read books or online material that have weight in terms of knowledge instead of craps or gossips or common daily stuffs (yes of course, once in a while it’s ok).. When you read an article, you have to feel you are gaining something. You have to feel that it is helping your mind to understand and see things better and probing your mind to think beyond!

Now that you like thinking and reading, it’s time to interact (or communicate)!
How? This is very easy since you have so many many online communities. But here also, you need to join communities which have substance. Also make sure you see that there are some experienced people around who can provide assistance and insights. This is crucial! A community with only newbies is not likely to do any good to you. You have to make sure the community is well balanced! Join communities centered around writing, blogging, online business and communities which will benefit on increasing your awareness on your niche..etc Examples of communities are blogcatalog, digital point forums..etc (There are so many, look around and see which ones best suit you! It is also a matter of taste.)

You’ve joined a community.. Very good? Not yet! You have to participate and communicate. Sitting around just idly or passively watching, will not work! Go ask questions, even if it is the silliest ones. Better be a fool for one day, than for your whole life! Everybody makes mistakes in the first steps, there’s nothing to be ashamed of.
With time, you will find yourself building some insight and getting the hang of how things are. So, now it is time to provide help to newbies. :)

How does this whole process help you in getting ideas for your blog?

=> When reading - you develop awareness which help see things better. In the end you will say “ah, so that’s how it is..”

Awareness + thinking = Emergence of new better ideas

=> Interaction & communication in communities - When asking questions, you get several solutions to your queries from different people. This helps you see things in different angle. When responding and helping others, this contributes a whole lot to a better understanding of what you are writing/doing.

Interaction + Writing = (Better Understanding + thinking) => Gives rise to better flow of new ideas

star Keep In Mind
Coming up with wonderful ideas is not a 1 day work. It is the result of a constant effort.

Wonderful Blogging Ideas - How To Breed Them In Your Garden? => PART 1

Posted on: Saturday, March 8th, 2008 | Written by Wakish

Wonderful ideas..
Attention-grabbing ideas..
Amazing ideas..
Mind-blowing ideas..
Top ideas..
Most Selling Ideas..
Compelling ideas..

Well, this is one of the most important tune which keeps on rhyming and rhyming every second, every minute, every hour or everyday in the daily nitty-gritty of a blogger (whether you are a part-time, full time or occassional blogger).

star WHY? - Understand What Sells

The bedrock of blogging is undeniably “writing/posting articles“; not just articles, but articles that will convince, persuade and attract the evergrowing virtual population. This will create an urge in your readers to come back to eat yet another wonderful article. And to write such type of articles, you will surely need “Ideas“.

bulb Let me give you a more concrete analogy:

Consider a supermarket for instance. I think in your locality, there should be more than just one of them and in the best case scenario you might even find two of them very close with each other, and yet both of them do work fine, making good profit. Ever wonder and think why and how? :P

For the supermarket, the prime concern of its buyers is ITEMS. Not just any items (or products), but items that will urge buyers to come often, if not everyday!
Now, this gets us to our next thought, that is, “how” to do that?

daffodils

star HOW? - Think How To Sell

Each of those two supermarket knows that it has to come up with “ideas” of how to provide attractive items, keeping in mind that it has competitors just nearby. To do that, you will notice ideas like “buy one and get another free”, :”our item has an unbeatable price, if you find a better price elsewhere, come and claim one free!” and also most of the time these supermarkets will ALWAYS have something which the other will not provide, whether in terms of price, creativity, quality or quantity.. etc..etc..etc
But the main thing is: To have the right idea, to sell the right stuff, to the right audience.

Let’s get back to blogging, how can we come up with wonderful ideas to attract readers and make them love our blog and create a feeling of “apartenance” to our blog? How can you bring the right idea?

This bring us to PART 2. (Click!)

Till, then have a nice time!

I Got A Real Life Job - Wakish Now A Part-Time Blogger

Posted on: Saturday, March 8th, 2008 | Written by Wakish

fireworks

star The Job

It’s been two weeks now since I’m working as a System Developer. We are working on .Net Platforms, coding specially in C#.Net (pronounced as C-Sharp dot net) and ASP.Net. The job is very challenging and needs speed of execution which really fascinates me. So wish me luck to achieve high :)

star The Unexpected - The First Interview And A Big One

It all started when I made my first ever interview with a big big company known as Deutsche Bank. I sent my CV and a motivation letter as per advertised. I was surprised to get a call saying I was called for the first round of interviews and that I was selected. That was totally amazing for me and I think my CV and motivation letter was solid. There were big guys from UK who came to Mauritius to convey those interviews since this Deutsche Bank branch in Mauritius is a special key one as they told me.
And in this process, I made it up till the last rounds of interviews where the response was “You have an amazing attitude, personality and brilliant skills. BUT you lack working experience which is crucial for our company.” So finally, I was NOT to get the job since in the last round there was only 2 guys selected; me and the other one, who obviously had the “working experience” advantage over me. Too bad for me! :(

star The Second Interview - Amazingly Unexpected

But then my dad said: “common it’s your first ever interview and that was a brilliant one (keeping in mind I was still expecting my results and did not have a working experience), I’m sure the next would be successful“. That gave me motivation and I finally applied for a second interview.

This one had a rather more complicated situation since we had a series of written tests. If we pass those tests, then only we can be called for an interview. So, I went for the tests, first part was coding/programming which was pretty much my thing. Second part was a theory part (i hate learning theories by heart) and the third one was an aptitude test. Damm, that aptitude test was like a chinese paper or greek paper to me, I could not understand anything. I was about to leave the test and drop out when suddenly I said to myself “since I’m here, why not do all that I can?” and besides I had my dad in my thoughts,  how could I possibly disappoint him like that..).
After two days, bingo! I get a call saying “I passed the test and was called for an interview”. Things were going absolutely fast, crazy and amazing for me.
I made it for the interview where I was surprised to know that my aptitude test was remarkable. Well..I surprised myself..lol

star The Second Interview Was A Success

Yeah, the interview went on fine, the boss said I gave a very good impression and had the necessary skills and was also amazed to see that I was also an online game programmer. He said: “It’s totally amazing to find young people like you sitting and coding at home..“).

And guess what? The next week, I got another phone call and finally the answer was: “You got the job!“. Eureka! I can’t explain how this news was so great for me and for my family.

Well, there is so much more that I want to talk, but I guess I should not bore you too much..lol

star My Blogging Trend Influenced?

It will be influenced in the sense that I will now be a part-time blogger and I will be able to blog only on Weekends or holidays. Meaning you can expect my blogging frequency to be as low as 1 or 2 posts per Week. But I will put my best to make those posts be of good value and quality! ;)

Else, I don’t think of more impacts since I love blogging and my internet activites so far..

Eduardo Da Silver - The Worse Injury In English Premier League

Posted on: Saturday, March 1st, 2008 | Written by Wakish

Eduardo Da Silva

Young talented Arsenal Striker, Eduardo Da Silva - the boy from Brazil, agonised an awful injury (a broken leg) during the match Arsenal vs Birmingham city on the 23rd February 2008. He is one of the amazing and promising, emerging talent of Arsene Wenger’s young squad. This is a big big blow to both the team and to the man himself - Eduardo. If you’ve watched the match live, you would have seen how tragic and awful that incident was. Everyone on the stadium was horrified and stunned. Team mates started crying on the pitch; Hleb and Fabregas could not believe what they were seeing.

I invite you to watch that horrible scene and you will understand how bad that injury was (the video also contain some of his amazing goals):

The History Of Text Link Ads (TLA)

Posted on: Saturday, March 1st, 2008 | Written by Wakish

As most of you know, Text Link Ads, aka TLA, was founded by Patrick Gavin. But did you know about how actually TLA was born? How did Patrick come up with this brilliant idea? Was it luck or effort?

Text Link Ads

bulb Fortunately, Patrick has just started his own blog and it’s pretty cool to read about how he came up with this wonderfully creative business idea of Text Link Ads. It all started from the “Brick to the Click” as Mr Partrick Gavin narrates in his article: History of TLA.

Before you go, here is another interesting article that I spotted; it gives you insights about the evolution of text links in general and most of the aspects and trends centered around them. The article was produced by Gord Collins, titled Text Link Ads: Buy Your Way to the Top?
